Tell me… What is it you plan to do with your one Wild and Precious Life?
Outside of scripture, this quote has motivated and perplexed me more than any other. I think I like it because it points to the wonder of our free choice in Christ. Could Jesus have said this? Maybe. He definitely lived a life that would have been the answer to this question.
I get excited when I think about the fact that God has a purpose and a plan for me that is both wild and precious to Him.
God’s Plan: The Wild and Precious Implications
- It’s a free gift.
There is already a wild and precious life plan waiting with your name on it. And it’s free to you, believer. That’s so exciting to consider! Even if you haven’t been living it, God still has a plan and it’s His gift to you. Doesn’t that make you want to say, “what is it?”
For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works, which God predestined, planned beforehand, for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]. Ephesians 2:10 AMP
- You are capable.
Now, that’s a novel thought considering that the world keeps telling us we are not enough and we don’t have enough. The truth is, you can do anything but you aren’t called to do everything. God created his church to come together and help one another. So it is together that we get everything done. Don’t think you have what it takes? Believer, you don’t even have to be convinced that you can do it. God says He will equip us with all we need. Believe Him.
“I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me, I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency.” Philippians 4:13 AMP
- You have options.
Yep… Jesus or the world. God created us with free will. You can choose His way or you can choose the way of the world. He loves you unconditionally, whether you walk in His plan or not, but honestly, why wouldn’t you want to walk in a path created just for you? How amazing to shine the light of a God as glorious as our God?
Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15 NIV
- Wild might be dangerous.
Or you know what? It might be adventurous and exciting. God has promised to be with you through every second of your life. In any situation, as Christ followers, you have been given the power and authority to do what ever He needs you to do.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 NIV
- It is valuable.
The life God created for you is precious to Him. So precious that He died in order for you to be able to live it. So why not grab hold of it and not let go until you do.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 ESV
So what about you? What has God asked of you that could be called “wild and precious?”
I’ll go first; join me in the conversation below.
God’s ask me to do alot of things that I didn’t feel qualified or ready to do. My biggest wild and precious has to be our 2 youngest daughters. It was a wild ride getting them home into our home and they are precious parts of our family. Yep sometimes wild and precious is beyond worth it.
