Even when the enemy twists the very essences of our womanhood and wicks it in a wicked way, it is wonderful to watch as God’s truth untangles the lies and washes them away.
The enemy of our souls wants to distract us and mislead us down a slippery slop. He whispers as if he knows the secret to fulfilling our voids and longing. Then as we take his bait he is quick to shame and condemn us. And deeper into silence and struggle we descend.
Do you have longings and desires that aren’t being met? Do you have wounds, traumas or heartbreak that won’t mend?
I’ve seen your hearts and heard your pain. If you were near me right now I’d give you a big mama hug and tell you that everything was going to be all right. But the truth is I’m not enough either. I don’t know the secret to changing your heart or restoring your marriage. But I can point you to the one who does.
Let me gently suggest that you place the longings of your heart in the capable arms of a pursuing God. Let me point you to the one that desires you more than any human could. One that loved you so much He pursued you from heaven to earth. One that stepped in front of death and took the punishment intended for you. Why? So you could live, so he could be with you forever.
And you know what? He didn’t leave and go back to heaven to wait till you can join him there. Nope. He is with you today. He knows your heart and your battle.
Where sin tries to destroy, it is our hero God that provides restoration, healing and redeeming love. His arm is not too short that it can’t comfort you and fill the longings of your feminine heart.
So this post is a little different than most I write. It doesn’t give you five ways to this or that. It isn’t teaching a biblical principle. It is just my heart encouraging you to seek His.
It is the greatest secret I know. And today I pray that you will take it as your own.
